Ultra-high-power steel plate laser cutting machines achieve a technological breakthrough, doubling the cutting efficiency of thick plates

Recently, a new type of ultra-high power steel plate laser cutting machine has completed performance debugging and been put into trial application. Its core technologies have achieved multiple breakthroughs, completely breaking the bottleneck of traditional thick plate cutting efficiency. The equipment adopts a 40kW-class high-brightness fiber laser, matched with a 100μm core diameter single-mode fiber, with a beam quality of M²<1.2 and a focused spot diameter of only 30-40μm. It can stably realize air slag-free cutting of 230mm carbon steel, and the cutting efficiency is 3-4 times higher than that of traditional equipment.
In terms of process optimization, the equipment innovatively adopts dynamic beam shaping technology, which can automatically switch the spot size according to the cutting thickness. The thick plate piercing time is shortened to 0.1 seconds, effectively reducing spatter and heat-affected zone. At the same time, its electro-optical conversion efficiency exceeds 50%, the energy consumption per workpiece is reduced by more than 35% compared with traditional equipment, and the plate utilization rate is increased by 8-12 percentage points with the intelligent nesting software, truly achieving a dual breakthrough in high efficiency and energy saving. At present, the equipment has been put into trial application in the field of heavy machinery manufacturing, and will be gradually expanded to high-end equipment manufacturing fields such as shipbuilding and nuclear power in the future.
